TechGirly Crushes! :D
So, as all my fellow techgirlies know, we don’t have crushes on your normal, average guys. We like techies. We like, some would even go so far as to say…nerds. :P Hot nerds, but nerds nonetheless. I have a tshirt that says “I <3 Nerds” and it’s got a picture of Millhouse in the middle of the heart with a big smooch on his cheek. AWESOMENESS!!!!
So, anyway, here are my top TechGirly crushes of the moment:
Pete Cashmore - Pete is the author of Mashable! - the social networking news blog to beat all other other…um…social
networking news blogs. :P But Mashable! is more than than, even. It has (in a move I can ONLY assume must be *somewhat* tongue in cheek!) its own social network, with profiles and avatars that follow users when they make a blog comment. It also has its own Mashable Marketplace classified ads service, not to mention Mashcodes, which has free stuff for Myspace, Piczo, Xanga, Hi5, and blogs. I really wouldn’t be surprised if we saw much, MUCH more from Mashable! in the future. How can the man behind all that be anything but tech-tastically hott?
Kai Ryssdal - Kai is the host of NPR’s “Marketplace” - a show that examines the financial world. I know that’s not very techie, but it certainly does qualify as some kinda nerdy (in the HOTT way, of course!). I must admit I lusted after Kai long before I even knew what he looked like. All that smooooooth confidence in his voice as he talks about complicated figures and trends…aaaaaahhhhh. It’s made me respond to the radio more than once, outloud in my car, “Oh, yeaaaah, Kai…let’s do the numbers, baby,” in what I consider to be quite a seductive tone of voice.
Charlie Eppes - Yes, that’s right, the character from Numb3rs. And, I *DO* mean the character of Charlie, and not the
actor who plays him. Although I’m sure David Krumholtz is a lovely human being, it is not he that I jones for. It’s Charlie. The way he can brilliantly manipulate numbers and theory, the way he’s so awkward and shy when talking about anything but math…yeah, he’s definitiely a prime TechGirly nerd-crush.
Well, that’s it for the current crop. Stay tuned, I’m sure in a couple of months it will be entirely different! ![]()
